The Apex Tactical Reset Assist Mechanism with Magazine Disconnect (RAM w/ Mag Disconnect) is a precision-engineered, drop-in upgrade designed specifically for Smith & Wesson M&P pistols that feature a magazine disconnect. This patented component (U.S. Patent No. 8,510,980) significantly enhances the tactile feel of the trigger reset, delivering a crisper, more positive feedback after each shot for faster, more reliable follow-up shots.Unlike standard trigger return systems, the Apex RAM acts as a reliable failsafe: in the rare event of a trigger return spring failure, it keeps the trigger bar properly aligned under the sear. This allows you to manually reset the trigger forward between shots, maintaining firearm functionality in critical situations.
Key features and benefits include:
- Sharper, more defined tactile trigger reset for improved shooting performance and confidence
- Maintains full compatibility and function with the factory magazine disconnect (no removal required)
- Precision machined and heat-treated for exceptional durability and long-term reliability
- Simple drop-in installation — no gunsmithing or permanent modifications needed
- Includes the RAM component plus a medium RAM spring tailored for mag disconnect models
Compatibility — Fits select Smith & Wesson M&P centerfire models (9mm, .357 SIG, .40 S&W) equipped with a magazine disconnect but without an external thumb safety or Internal Locking System (ILS). Note: It will not work in VTAC variants or certain newer M&P models with updated sear housing block configurations — verify your pistol’s exact specs before purchase.
Upgrade your M&P trigger experience with the Apex Reset Assist Mechanism w/Mag Disconnect — the trusted choice for competitive shooters, law enforcement, and defensive pistol owners seeking enhanced reset feel without sacrificing factory safety features.
