PSA JAKL Rifle Upper Assembly 13.7″ Nitride 5.56NATO w/BCG/Bolt Catch & Roll Pin

The PSA JAKL Rifle Upper Assembly 13.7″ 5.56 NATO 1:7 Nitride w/BCG is a high-performance, innovative upper receiver that blends AK reliability with AR-15 modularity. Built around Palmetto State Armory’s unique long-stroke gas piston system, this JAKL upper delivers smoother operation, reduced fouling, and easier maintenance compared to traditional direct impingement AR uppers.

Featuring a 13.7-inch 4150V Chrome Moly steel barrel with a 1:7 twist rate and durable nitride finish, it ensures excellent accuracy and longevity with 5.56 NATO / .223 Remington ammunition. The barrel comes equipped with a pinned and welded JMAC Customs GFHCE-28-S-KM muzzle device (flash hider compatible with KeyMo & KeyMicro suppressors) on 1/2×28 threads for a non-NFA overall length while maintaining maneuverability.

The monolithic 6105 receiver houses an ambidextrous, toolless side charging handle, a toolless 8-position adjustable gas block for suppressor use or tuning, and a fully captured buffer system that shortens the overall build length. The hybrid AK/AR design includes a 7-lug shot-peened Carpenter 158 bolt, 4340 carrier, and 8620 front trunnion for rugged durability.

This upper is compatible with any Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receiver but requires the proprietary PSA JAKL buffer system (available on JAKL lowers or build kits) to function properly and avoid damage. It includes the bolt carrier group (BCG), bolt catch, and roll pin for a drop-in ready upgrade.

Key advantages:

• Long-stroke piston for cleaner, more reliable cycling
• Effortless toolless field stripping and cleaning
• Ambidextrous charging for left- or right-handed shooters
• Suppressor-ready adjustable gas system (note: not compatible with Dead Air Nomad or some SilencerCo models)
• American-made quality backed by PSA’s lifetime warranty
