The PSA Custom AK-47 “Cheese Grater” Upper Handguard is a high-performance upgrade designed for AK enthusiasts looking to enhance their rifle or pistol build. This iconic “cheese grater” style upper handguard from Palmetto State Armory’s Custom Series features a perforated steel design that dissipates heat faster than traditional handguards, keeping your hands cooler during extended shooting sessions. At just 1.620 oz, it’s significantly lighter than standard options while remaining strong and durable, making it ideal for custom AK builds, tactical setups, or competition rifles.
Crafted from robust yet lightweight steel, this handguard delivers reliable performance without adding unnecessary bulk. It’s fully compatible with popular PSA platforms including AK-47, AK-P, AK-E, and AK-V models (AKM/AK-74 pattern rifles). Note: Due to variations in AK manufacturing tolerances, minor fitting may be required for a perfect installation.
Whether you’re upgrading an existing PSA AK rifle, completing a parts kit build, or customizing your AK pistol, the PSA “Cheese Grater” upper handguard offers an aggressive, vented look with practical benefits like improved heat management and reduced weight. Backed by Palmetto State Armory’s reputation for affordable, high-quality Custom Series components, it’s the smart choice for shooters who demand function and style.
