The PSA JAKL 14.5″ Rifle-Length Upper Assembly in 5.56 NATO delivers an innovative piston-driven upgrade for your AR-15 platform. This complete upper combines AK-inspired reliability with AR modularity, featuring a long-stroke gas piston operating system that eliminates the traditional buffer tube—allowing for shorter overall builds, easier use with side-folding stocks, and smoother, reduced-recoil shooting.
Built around a durable monolithic 6105 rifle-length receiver, it pairs seamlessly with any standard Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receiver (requires the proprietary PSA JAKL buffer system found in JAKL lowers or build kits for proper function). The 14.5″ 4150V chrome moly steel barrel with nitride finish and 1:7 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of 5.56 NATO / .223 Remington ammo, while the pinned and welded Advanced Armament Company (AAC) BlackOut flash hider (51T mount compatible) effectively suppresses muzzle flash for low-light performance and suppressor-ready versatility.Key highlights include an ambidextrous side-charging handle (knurled for positive grip and toollessly reversible left/right), a toolless 8-position adjustable gas block for tuning to your ammo/suppressor setup, and effortless tool-free field stripping of the carrier, recoil assembly, and sled. The BCG features a 7-lug shot-peened Carpenter 158 bolt, 4340 carrier, and 8620 front trunnion for exceptional strength and longevity.
Finished in rugged for corrosion resistance and tactical aesthetics, this upper includes the knurled charging handle, full BCG, pinned/welded AAC flash hider, and Rocksett for secure installation.
Perfect for building a compact, reliable, piston-driven rifle that’s suppressor-ready and excels in dynamic shooting, home defense, or range use. Backed by PSA’s full lifetime warranty.
