Upgrade your AR-15 build with the PSA JAKL 14.5″ Rifle Length Upper Assembly in 5.56 NATO – the ultimate hybrid piston-driven platform combining AK reliability with AR modularity. Palmetto State Armory’s innovative JAKL upper features a long-stroke gas piston operating system fully captured in the monolithic receiver, eliminating the traditional buffer tube for a shorter overall length and seamless compatibility with side-folding stocks.
Built around a durable 6105 monolithic rifle-length upper receiver that’s fully compatible with any mil-spec AR-15 lower (requires the proprietary PSA JAKL buffer system for safe operation), this upper delivers smooth, reduced-recoil performance ideal for home defense, tactical applications, or range use. The 14.5″ 4150V Chrome Moly Steel barrel with 1:7 twist rate and nitride finish ensures excellent accuracy and longevity, while the pinned and welded HUXWRX Flash Hider-QD 556 minimizes muzzle flash (unsuppressed) and serves as a direct-mount suppressor adapter compatible with popular HUXWRX cans like the HX-QD 556k, 556, 762, and more.
Key features include:
- Ambidextrous side charging handle (knurled for positive grip) – switch sides tool-free for left- or right-handed shooters
- Toolless 8-position adjustable gas block for quick tuning, suppressor use, or ammo variations
- Premium internals: 7-lug shot-peened Carpenter 158 bolt, 4340 carrier, 8620 front trunnion
- Rifle-length handguard for extended accessory real estate
- Tool-free field stripping of carrier, recoil assembly, and sled for easy cleaning
Perfect for builders seeking a piston AR upper, suppressor-ready JAKL, or compact folding rifle setup without sacrificing reliability. Note: Must pair with a PSA JAKL-compatible lower/buffer system to prevent damage – all NFA rules apply for SBR configurations.
